Today Gwilym was down in Salcombe assessing Sam for his Sea Kayak Award
They had a great time in warm water, low wind with just enough "wind over tide" to make things interesting at Bolt Head. A large and friendly Barrell Jellyfish cam over to say hello.
Sam put in a good performance and passed. Well Done Sam!
As part of Gwilym’s development, Rich Uren was there overseeing they assessment so that Gwilym can get a recommendation to be a provider in his own right and I am pleased to say he has got that. Thanks Rich.
Today Gwilym has been at Bridgwater YMCA running a British Canoeing Foundation Safety and Rescue for some of the staff there. What a day, warm water and super hot so no need to wear wetsuits which makes a nice change.
On Saturday, Gwilym was on The River Barle delivering training for a 3 Star White Water Kayak Course with 5 candidates from Dorset.
On Sunday he was joined by Robin who wanted to get signed off as a 3 Star provider. Robin ran a fair and robust assessment over the day and 4 candidates pass their 3 star and Robin is now a provider himself following a debrief and recommendation from Gwilym.
This weekend, Gwilym has been on Exmoor for a one to one 3 Star Training course. Some high river levels on Saturday saw us at Wimbleball Lake before getting on the river on Sunday for some fun on moving water.
Well done to Max and will be good to see you back for assessment in the New Year
Today, Gwilym was in Bridgwater running a British Canoeing Foundation Safety and Rescue Training course on the local Canal. Warm and sunny above water and not to bad in it. Canoes, Kayaks, Stand Up Paddleboard's and Sit on Tops all got turned upside down and righted again.
We can run these on demand for groups of 4 - 6 so please let us know if you would like us to run pone at your location
